In this mastermind puzzle, you see a lock with hints. Your challenge is to crack the lock code, using the hints. Now, analyze the hints to crack the lock code. This type of code-finding puzzle is viral on the internet.

It involves a four-digit number lock with six clues to unlock it. Now you apply the clues and open the lock within the time limit. We are creating and sharing a variety of fun, logical picture puzzles for smart people.

Explanation:

1️⃣ 3804 → Nothing is correct
👉 Digits 3, 8, 0, 4 are NOT in the code

2️⃣ 5803 → One correct and well placed
👉 Since 8, 0, 3 are invalid, only 5 can be correct
👉 So 5 is correct and in position 1

3️⃣ 5820 → One correct and well placed, one correct but wrongly placed
👉 8 and 0 are invalid → digits are 5 and 2

5 is already correct in position 1 ✅
So 2 is correct but wrongly placed (not in position 3)

4️⃣ 1567 → Two correct but wrongly placed
👉 5 is one of them (but here in wrong place → confirms position 1 for 5)
👉 One more from 1,6,7 is in the code but wrongly placed

5️⃣ 5217 → One correct and well placed, two correct but wrongly placed
👉 5 is well placed at position 1 ✅
👉 So among 2,1,7, two are correct but wrongly placed

6️⃣ 7892 → Two correct and well placed
👉 8 and 9 → 8 invalid, so ignore
👉 So 7 and 2 are correct and well placed

Positions:

From “7892”: 7 is position 2, 2 is position 4
👉 So:
Position 2 = 7
Position 4 = 2

Now remaining digit:

From clue (5): among 1,2,7, two are correct → we already have 2 & 7
👉 So 1 is NOT in code

From clue (4): remaining correct digit is 6

Final positions:

Position 1 = 5
Position 2 = 7
Position 3 = 6
Position 4 = 2

Answer: 5762
